Cream Senoliu won the gold medal in the Food Products category at the “Lithuanian Product of the Year” contest. The competition organizer: Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.

Is Lithuanian Liliputas as good as the famous French Roquefort? It seems it is. In Brussels the EU member states have acknowledged Lithuanian Liliputas to be a special one. Lithuanian cheese Liliputas will be marked as having a protected geographical indication.
“We are really pleased to have one more Lithuanian product added to the EU protected name register. This reaffirms thah we can take pride in the quality of our products, which is well appreciated by other countries“, said the minister of agriculture Virginija Baltraitienė.
After a long and detailed examination Lithuanian cheese gained high recognition at European level and replenished the ranks of such European food products notorious for their quality as Italian cheese Parmigiano Reggiano, Greek cheese Feta etc. In Lithuania Liliputas has been produced in the village of Belvederis since 1958 in a special way: during the entire process of production each individual loaf of cheese is held in hands more tahn 50 times! It is ripened naturally, has a mild flavour and a smooth texture and comes in a wax rind, which helps to preserve the freshness of the cheese. It is no coincidence that the cheese Liliputas, made in Belvederis has had a great success at exhibitions.
